I created this community because I couldn't find a place where I could go and talk with people that like to collect and fix retro electronics. Yes, there are forums for specific types of devices like old Apple computers or for old audio devices but I was missing a place where everything retro would fit. And I would like this place to be the one.
As many of you already know, when fixing retro electronics, one of the most common issues is that the electrolytic capacitors or "caps" are bad (usually leaking) and need to be replaced. So every time I would go to a forum and ask for help, the first answer would always be: "check the caps"
. That is why I chose this name and community mascot.I hope this community feels like a place where everyone is welcome. Suggestions are highly appreciated.
